How to care for a wood cutting board.

This is the most asked question I get. Here is how to clean your board and keep it looking beautiful. You want to always wash your board by hand. Never put it in the dishwasher or soak it in water. This will cause your board to warp. Use hot water and soap. Scrub your board well to get all the debris off.

It is important to wash both sides of your board even if you only chop on one side. This will prevent your board from drying unevenly. Your board can get some stubborn stains. Stubborn stains happen easily from food preparation. It is best to take action as soon as possible. Sprinkle a liberal amount of salt or baking soda on your cutting board surface. Use a sponge or brush that has been soaked in hot water and scrub the affected area until the stain is removed. After removing the stain, rinse your board with hot water. Once your board is clean and rinsed make sure to hand dry your board with a towel to remove any excess moisture and allow it to finish air drying. Stand your board on its side. This will help prevent warping. Over time your board will start to get dull, or you will see knife marks. You can lightly sand your board to remove any knife marks and apply our custom-made cutting board conditioner.

Once your board is dry just use a clean cloth to apply our conditioner.

Never use cooking oil as these can go rancid making your food or board smell or taste unpleasant.
